IP Metro’s Magnify.plus, the AI-based platform designed by lawyers for lawyers, is reaching a critical milestone with the support of veteran Internet security expert Paul M. Kane. Jean-Christophe Vignes, a 20+ years online brand protection expert also joins as CEO.
“Having Paul on board will be transformative for IP Metro” commented Bart Lieben, Chairman and Co-Founder of the company. “Domain names are a critical part of online brand protection strategies and Paul’s support and expertise will help make Magnify.plus an even more flexible and accessible platform to brand owners big and small”.
One of the first holders of the “key to the Internet”, Kane has been running critical domain name functions for more than thirty years, ensuring stability and online security for businesses.
“With phishing and brand infringement at an all-time high, brand owners require an agile and flexible solution which can evolve as fast as their needs” commented Kane “Magnify.plus provides the perfect opportunity for all companies looking for a way to stay ahead of the curve. Even more than their innovative platform, I am impressed by the team’s unique ability to understand their clients’ needs, honed through years of experience in the field”.
To continue moving the platform forward Jean-Christophe Vignes has been appointed CEO of the company. An in-house IP lawyer with 22 years of experience in the domain name industry, he championed trademark’s interests while working for leading domain name registries – including .TM, relaunched with Kane in 2002 – and registrars. As co-founder and CEO of OpenRegistry in 2010, J.C. also helped several major companies to protect their brands at the Top Level of the Internet. In his own words: “There has never been a more critical time to protect brands online. Joining the stellar IP Metro team and help make Magnify.plus an even more efficient and practical tool for law firms and their clients is both an honor and an amazing challenge”.

Launched in early 2022, Magnify.plus stems from IP Metro’s team years of hands-on expertise in Intellectual Property protection and enforcement. Thanks to its AI-powered engine, Magnify.plus can shed light on the current use of any intellectual property right on the Internet. Through its SaaS interface, law firms and their clients can flush out counterfeits from hundreds of sites including key e-commerce marketplaces, NFT repositories, and social media sites, so that customers are not mislead by fake listings on reputable platforms. Crucially, the platform is use-case agnostic, as it can also be used to monitor resellers’ compliance, evaluate the impact of a marketing campaign in a specific location by monitoring specific news sites, and prevent grey market by taking down listings from leading e-commerce sites.
